The year 2006 will be inscribed in Thai history as one of the most remarkable years for the institution of the monarchy. It marks the auspicious occasion of the 60th anniversary of His Majesty the King’s accession to the throne, or the diamond jubilee of his reign.

| Therefore, as a part of the celebrations for this special occasion, the Athletic Association of Thailand under the Patronage of His Majesty the King, Asian Athletics Association, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Sports Authority of Thailand and Pattaya City proudly organize “The Sixtieth Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne – Asian Indoor Athletics Championships – 2006” during February 10 – 12, 2006 at Pattaya City, Thailand. |
